It's about Bill Clinton. *Since I'm cutting and pasting it instead of uploaded it, it will not have perfect spacing. ___________________________________________________________ Smith 1 Susan Smith Professor Osback English 101 October 5, 1991 Bill Clinton In the year 1946, William Jefferson Clinton was born in Hope, Arkansas. An only child, he was raised by a mother and stepfather who were not rich. In fact, at one point, the Clintons lived in a small house with no indoor plumbing. After attending both Georgetown University and Yale Law School, Clinton entered the work force as a lawyer but soon began his Democratic political career as attorney general of Arkansas. Eventually, he became governor of the state. From there, he decided to run for president. Education was important to Clinton. He believed that the United States was neither expecting enough of or offering enough to her students. One of his goals was putting into place “rigorous standards and systems of assessment and accountability.” His goal was that all students have the same opportunity to succeed. Youth were not the only people on Clinton’s radar. He cared about the middle class and thought that those making below $80,000 a Smith 2 year should have their taxes cut by ten percent. He met much opposition and was unable to make this change happen. William Jefferson Clinton, married to Hillary Rodham Clinton, has one daughter. He ran on the slogan “For People, for a Change.” 260 words PreviousNext
